The St. Martijn Herald has an editorial and an article about the Dutch Parliament's votes which bid fair to derail the ongoing reorganization of the Antilles government. Not good, apparently.

The matters raised in the article and editorial are all part of continuing debates and disagreements. But as the editorial said, any derailment attempt will not succeed. There will be loads of political posturing from all sides in all locations, but it ain't over till it's over, and eventually the status of the islands will change.
Very much appreciate your posting these, Glen!

You are most welcome, Tish.

One of these articles (or perhaps it was in Amigoé online) said that the Parliament would insist on Pechtold including the immigration thing in RTC in accordance with their motions. I hope that is posturing; I would think that, technically, he would be required to do what they say, by law. Hope this doesn't hold things up.

Since I raised this issue on Sunday, I will now link to today's Herald Editorial and articles that say just what Tish pointed out: the hurdles are being ignored by the Dutch executive. Good news.
