Does anyone know how much rain the island has had this year? I'm guessing the normal 22" was long ago passed.

Seb, I don't know how much rain ther ebeen...

In 2004 there were a 1002mm of rain and this was an absolut record year ... another record year was 1988 when Bonaire had 918mm of rain

So 39.44 inches, or about twice as much rain as an average year. Thanks Brigitte.

Since the big rains last November, we've kept a daily record here in Sabadeco.

As of today (9 Feb 05) we've had 225.5 mm (8.9 inches) of rain.

Here's the Daily, Month to Date and Year to Date:

The rainfall I mentioned is mesured at the salt company and it is certainly lower there than in town or Sabadeco and Rincon will have even more rain .... very often rain starts around the airport and Belnem and further south has no rain - or Belnem has just some drops and there are heavy downfalls in town ...
