Ellen - you're right. It really is more beautiful in person. I saw them putting up the panels while driving home on Saturday. A couple of people doing the hanging, a couple more supervising or just looking on, and the most important position - the guy across the street in a chair telling them when it is right.

Here are a few more "lights of Bonaire", courtesy of a friend here on Bonaire who wishes to remain anonymous: The last image is of Marlis' shop on Kaya Gob. N. Debrot - if you look closely, you'll see reflective Christmas ornaments (balls) stuck on the top of each leaf of the agave plants - pretty creative and festive too. Jake

The same photographer sent me the following close-ups from Marlis' place (I know they aren't lights, but...) Jake

Ah, Jake, there's a lot more to Christmas lights than 120...or even 220 watts. Why I can see the gleam of care and attention from hard-working hands, the glow of Christmas feelings from the good heart that set them there...and shine...look at that shine...just like the eyes of all us kids on Christmas morning....Sure feels like Christmas light to me...betcha that's why you put 'em here for us to see. You're just a big ol' Christmas Elf..Merry Christmas, all you Richter folk...Ho, Ho, Choo...sorry, cold up here.....

Yes, the Christmas lights on BON are just wonderful.. we took a few pictures ourselves this year and they've turned out good.. The BON lights beat the London lights every year (in my opinion)! Kerri, so nice to see you posting.. I hope all is well with you..? Bye for now.. S

Jake, this is becoming popular. My sister in law got a call yesterday from Solange Cicilia and Max Chirino who also want their decorated homes to appear on Bonaire Talk. Good job Max and Solange! Hopi bunita!
