God forbid there is no wind, would it be worthwhile to take the group over to Curacao? How long is the ferry and how much? What can one do in a day there and is it worth it?

There is much to do for on a one day visit! It takes an hour and half to get there, a bit longer to come back. The cost is nafl 95 rt

Sounds like a "must do" during our May 2002 trip, for sure! I love boat rides to begin with and the thought of "exploring" new turf intrigues me, too. Can't beat the price, either. Carole

Who runs the ferry? Is the trip to Curacao to explore the mainland or dive?
|

It is a privately owned group and is just for transportation between the two islands...no diving. BTW Curacao is not the mainland. It is an island a bit bigger than Bonaire. South America is the mainland for us.

Of course, no one has mentioned that the ferry leaves BON at 6 a.m., which made it too early for us to attempt with two little kids in tow! I too would have found it fun to explore Curacao's main city (and the island) since it's so much bigger.

Just got back and we did the ferry trip. It was fun, but coming back is a rough trip.(take dramamine, they even give it out free on the ferry)
