What a exciting domestic life....I am looking for a washing machine. Anyone interested in selling one or suggestions where to look?

Try the furniture place across the street from Lisa Gas. I can't remember the name. Did you know they have several types? They have the standard US ones that take hot and cold water taps with 110/60htz. (Still works here but the timer is off most of the time.) And they have the European ones that take cold water and have a heating element built in but work at 220. Of course, they have very manuals ones that you add water to the churning washing side and move the laundry to the spinner to get out the excess water. I don't know what the electricity is for this one.
The furniture place will deliver.

Hi Ann,
I'd also check out the new appliance store on the same street as Telbo, but toward the Catholic church. It is a division of WIMCO out of Curacao...broader range of brands.

You will want 50hz for sure if you have any electronic controls.

Scott

Ann,
I have a kenmore washing machine in excellent condition.. except it doesn't work I have swapped out the main control unit so its probably a water level switch.. I am not good with mechanical items bigger then regs.. you are welcome to it.. Besides that you can try Mutebelli Antilles over by Hertz.. I murdered the spelling

Jason,
Thanks for the offer. I am mechanically inept, so better not take on anything that isn't working!

Hey, Ann, maybe you could cut a deal with somebody local to do your laundry (wash, dry and fold:-) Are you really going to want to wash all those sheets after a long day of doing massage at Sorobon? (I'm expecting lots of business and a very tired Ann:-)

Thanks Dara! Ann can physically only do 4 to 5 massages a day, so should be able to do some laundry at night....at least I hope!

Ann,
A dryer is a killer to find. I found a US 50h one but it overheats half way through a load and won't restart. I can dry maybe two loads in a day with waiting in between for it to cool off and start it again.

The ones at Caribbean laundry use propane. I did not see any gas dryers at the stores when I was looking but you never know.

Bonaire has such a lovely, drying wind all the time that things dry quickly and soft without additives. If you can find a spot, that is the way to go. :–)

Is Jason trying to say Muebleria Antiliana? He says he murdered the spelling, so I am guessing.

That would be my guess... Certainly that's the place Linda had in mind too :-)

Jake
