Can anyone give me details about Maskarada ? I'll be on the island at that time.

There is a wonderful story in the Bonaire Affair Magazine that you will find at the airport. The holiday is celebrated mostly in the Bario of Nord Salina and can be lots of fun to watch. It has lots of symbolic cosutumes and practices carried over from the many cultures that make up the population of Bonarie. Not too many tourists attend but you will definitly be welcomed. When you arrive on island, I suggest you ask at the front desk of your hotel or strike up a conversation with a local and they will be happy to give you the specific time and place so you can participate.
