I am staying in Bonaire from December 24th until December 31st. I was wondering what stores and restaurants will be open during Christmas Eve, Christmas, and Boxing Day. Thank You

Christmas Eve is usually a half day or closing mid-afternoon. All banks and government closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Most stores are closed both days as well. However most of the restaurants are open on the holidays with special dinners for Christmas Eve and/or Day.

Do you know if the Cultimara Supermarket will be closed also those days?

Yes, Cultimara usually does the half day followed by the next two days closed. However, we won't know for sure until about the week before when they post their days closed at the store.

Does anyone know Cultimara's hours for the 24th of Dec? We are arriving at 3:30 and would like to pick up some items if possible. Any other possibilities for groceries?

It was on the radio today that the government will inforce the existing laws that prohibit stores from opening on Christmas day, December 25, but I'm not sure if that will affect a store within a resort property, such as Sand Dollar. Tourist related businesses (car rentals, dive shops, restaurants, hotels, airport, etc. are not included in this group). If you don't get to shop, eat out a few meals--there will be plenty of restaurants open.

This may be one of the times when it makes sense to bring some food down with you. Doesn't take much room and solves all this for whatever meals you don't want to eat at restaurants. For max protection, freeze meat and wrap in clothes. Likely be still frozen when you arrive. And it will keep eggs, etc., cool.
