It's kind of an "Antillean" flag day. Schools, offices, gov't, stores closed. It's October 21. Tousist related businesses (car rentals, dive shops, restaurants, etc) open as usual.

The kids are out two days this year - Monday and Tuesday. We'll have to check but the grocery stores may be closed on the 21st or have shorter hours.

Not to get off the subject, but we have changed our dates and will be down the week of the King competition! We would love to help in anyway we can and would love to see some of the events! We will be going down on the 22nd of Nov, so let me know if there is anything you need brought down, etc. We will be departing the 6th of Dec.

Oct. 21 is the date on which,if I'm not mistaken, in 1994 a referendum was held on all 5 islands to see if the islands would stay together as the Netherlands Antilles or go their separate ways.
