I am a child therapist/social worker and wonder what if any, job ops exist? I think Michael said I would need to learn Papiementu. Also, I specialize in all aspects of special programming such as special education, crisis management, conflict resolution...Just day dreaming I guess..

Annie, when you were last here, you missed meeting Dr. Kenneth Obryhm, the gentlemen who is planning to start an international school here on Bonaire. He has just left his position as Assitant Administrator in Aruba and moved to Bonaire. He will be back permanently by the next time you return. I think he is a sailor as well and perhaps you will have a chance to meet him.

Note...Dutch is the official language. New teachers are required to learn Papiamentu as part of thier contract.

Ann, I have followed your Bonaire Adventure with great interest. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Hope you will be able to convert your dreams to reality. We will be there in less than a week to see for ourselves how wonderful the Bonaire experience is.

Oh Nancy, it is wonderful and I have a good frame of reference. Have lived in Antigua and traveled to many of the islands from the Grenadines to Bermuda. BON has what I love, wind, kind people, a solid infrastructure, de-sal plant so water, diversity and more..It is rather dry for my tastes but with AA Eagle I can fly to PR or beyond for a taste of the rain forest when I need a fix. I hope to live there someday and spend my summers on Cape Cod..somehow..

Annie, I feel that your "determination" will get you there someday soon... I have often wondered what it would be like to spend a few months a year on BON.. we may well find out sometime in the not too distant future.. but certainly your idea of going back to Cape Cod sounds like a good one.. I'd like to feel that we could continue to really appreciate where we are.. going home to the UK for a short time should certainly fix that!!!!! Anyho, if you don't get lucky.. perhaps when I graduate, I'll open up a small Marine Biology Centre that offers windsurfing classes too.. that would be your department, of course.. S

It's a deal. If I ever get wind of some money, I want to have kids clinics in BON for underprivileged inner city kids..I such a cool idea..also hope to start marketing windsurf clinics just for women down there..lots of ideas brewing..
