The last time I was on Bonaire, you could park
along side the waters edge in front of the airport
landing strip and watch a large KLM plane land
on a Sunday evening. Does the KLM still come
in on Sunday and if so, what time?

We will fly KLM from Amsterdam to Bonaire at Saturday April 5, arriving at 14:55. As far as I know KLM flies pretty frequently at Bonaire.
I am wondering though, if we will be flying directly or have stops, haven't had a booking number yet, so cannot look it up. Anyone knows?
Karin.

Mike, the big KLM planes come in every day now. There is one arriving around 3:00p.m. You can get the full experience at Donkey Beach (the Windsock dive site). Or you can get up very, very early and get that same full experience in the dark...around 2:00a.m. and 4:00 a.m. :-(

I seem to recall that a KLM 757 or some thing
that size came in around sunset on Sunday
evenings. People would park their cars off the
road and watch the landing. It was very
impressive to watch. I was just wondering if
they still do that and if any body knows what
time it came in.

Every day, 3:00 p.m. Yes, people still stop to watch it land. The location I mentioned above is at the end of the runway, across the road from the airport.

During the day the KLM (MD11, used to be a 747 on Sundays) arrives at 2pm and 4pm. Will be an hour earlier during daylight saving time.

And, in case it's not clear, there's no longer a 747 on Sundays :-)

Thanks everybody. I'll be in Bonaire nextweek
and wanted to take the family down to see the
plane land, not that thats the highlight of
our trip! But one can only do so much diving
in a day. Anybody know what the underwater vis
has been this week? Thanks to everyone's reply.
ScubaMike.

We just returned from Bonaire and were able to experience a few KLM landings and takeoffs. Pretty cool... We picked up a KLM schedule at the airport and it shows a flight arriving daily at 16:05.
One thing no one has mentioned - for the takeoffs - do NOT stand along the fence in the direct path of the plane!!! You will be pummeled with sand, dust and pebbles when those jet engines kick in!! We were snorkeling the 1st time a KLM took off and could see all the dust stirred up so we knew to stand way to either side of the runway.
