Does anyone know where I can rent a Four wheel, four door, hard top, air conditioned vehicle? Automatic would be great, but a stick shift will suffice. I know I am asking for a lot, but......someone once rented a Toyota Rav 4 vehicle in Bonaire, but she cannot recall the exact rental agency's name. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks! Call Budget in the states to make a reservation. also try Islandrentals@bonairenet.com If you are using a gold credit card to rent vehicles, most cover your CDW insurance EXCEPT when you rent a 4wd. There is really no need for 4wd here, especially in the dry season. A double cab Toyota Pickup with airco is fine for the park and there really is no place to go off road, so it may not be worth the added expense.

Can anyone provide an email address for A.B. Car Rental? The only thing I can locate, so far, is that they are located at Flamingo Airport and their telephone and Fax numbers.

Do they have a website address???

I would like to find out exactly what vehicles they have for rent on the island and what types of vehicles, rates, etc. etc. (i.e. air condidtioned? four wheel drive? hard top?, etc)

Sadly, AB Carrental does not have a Web site nor e-mail (and many folks, both on-island and off have been trying to convince them to change that without much success).

There are only two car rental companies with Web pages on Bonaire at present:

I found that the main Avis site at www.avis.com was amazingly simple to use to reserve any available type of vehicle for Bonaire. You can use the e-mail address above to communicate with the local office. I wrote them after making a web-based reservation, and they had my reservation in hand.

AB Carrental can be reached via e-mail at nick@habitatdiveresorts.com They have an office at Habitat. Your e-mail will be delivered to them and they will respond.

does anyone have any information on the current status of budget rent a car in bonaire. i understand that the government has seized thier assets but no news on who if anyone will be taking over the business..

Alan-- I can tell you that I called Budget,whom I have always used on Dec.3 and was told "we have just closed the Bonaire office.Thats all I can tell you at this time" I`ll be using Island in Jan.They were very efficient and got back to me with a confirmation right away.

Sadly, Budget is no longer operating. There are a few new places that have opened to take up the slack and you will see them soon on the updated transportation list on this web site in a few days.
