This is probably a silly question but is a US driver's license valid for driving in Bonaire or do we need to bring an "International Driver's License". Thanks

Maria,
According to the InfoBonaire web site, "International drivers license or any valid license held for at least two full years"

Check out that website, it should answer many of your questions.

Hi Maria,

just a general reference to IDs. Once you have rented your car, checked in and signed up at the Dive Op, it is VERY unlikely you will again be asked for any form of ID until you are on your way back home at the airport. So leave every thing in the room safe and just bring along keys and some cash (US$ or guilders) when you go out. That's really all you'll need. Most of the merchants are quite familiar with "damp" money too if you don't bring one of those tiny Otter Boxes to keep your stuff dry. I have a small Otter box attached to my BC that fits my prescription glasses, car & room keys, some money and a spare digital camera battery. Rated for 150fsw and keeps everything safe (against potential theft if just left in my parked truck) and dry while shore diving. Got it at my LDS for about $14US.

That reminds me of a little bar on Jost Van Dyke(BVI) called the Soggy Dollar, as the only way to get there is to swim from your boat. This was the bar that created the “Painkiller”, possibly my favorite vacation drink. Don’t drive on any license after a couple of these (to get back on topic ;-))
