Just back from Bonaire, and used Telerin and Poppy for the first time. Everything was perfect and exactly the way posters have repeatedly described. She was waiting at the airport, so as soon as we cleared customs, there she was with a sign with our name on it. She had the paperwork all done, and the truck was waiting in the short term parking, right at the curb. She even paid for the parking, and gave us a stub to get out of the lot. The truck was quite new, an easy shifting Toyota with a/c and radio and new tires and spare. We drove off, had a great time, then returned for our flight and left the truck in the short term parking as agreed. Everyone at the airport seemed to know Poppy, so we didn't even need her sign, just a question of the first person we saw in Bonaire who immediately pointed her out to us.
Thanks for the easiest, fastest rental I've ever had anywhere in the world.

Poppy is the BEST!!! She sure runs a smooth business! We have been using her for years. It's like borowing a truck from a close relative... Ron

Does Poppy/Telerin have a website for reservations? Or do I call from the US?

We are renting from Poppy this week(Nov. 14 - 20) and when we thought the vehicle might be having problems, she exchanged it for another vehicle immediately.

Simply the Best---while I'm thinking about it, I want to wish Poppy the best of holidays.

I need an automatic transmission car from 3/12-3/26/11. I don't want to go back to AB Carrental. I tried Poppy but she only has manual pickups. Any other recommendations? I'd prefer a local company that takes AMEX.
Thanks,
Hope

Don't know if Budget has automatics, but I have used them 6-7 times without a hitch.

Rich (the OP) has it exactly right -- the best car rental experience I have ever had. Ever. Anywhere.

Returning the car is even easier -- she tells you where/how to leave the car as you are departing. She gives you the receipt, etc. while you are in line at the airport.

The truck is always in very good mechanical condition (including tires). The interactions with Poppy are always easy, quick and very pleasant. In fact, renting a car from her is one of the things I actually look forward to!

The truly great thing: it has been that way every time!

Does Poppy only rent manual transmission trucks or does she also rent cars? I sent her an email for information on what she has at what rate for our Dec. trip but she only responded that they are sold out for December. So I am hoping maybe someone here in the forum knows (for my future reference) whether she also rents cars. ?

We used Poppy back in August. When DAE messed up our flight times both coming and going, she was reachable and flexible. No problems.

Elaine,

Perhaps Hope's reason is price. I found AB to be pricey. No problems with them but all said and done I could have done much better on price.

I read another tread at the time which told of problems with AB.

We arrived on the Continental flight Saturday AM. As promised, Poppy was there, but with a car, since the renter of the truck we were supposed to have did not return it as scheduled. We all agreed that there was no way we could squeeze the four of us in the car with all the luggage. Poppy put us in a cab which took us to the hotel, and delivered the truck before lunch. How nice was that?
