Hi All
Have four coming down maybe six and was wondering where I should rent a truck for two weeks

As well what is a fair price to pay with all the taxes and stuff included?

One last thing are you allow passengers to ride in the back of the truck?

As always appreciate your help.

Mike

Our only experience has been with AB Carrental, but it has always been a good one! Our kids love riding in the back!

You can email around and get quotes? I've rented from Poppy at Telerins and AB, and prefer Telerin.
I always ask for the worst looking, best running truck available. If I were to put another ding in the beast I don't think they'd know-- lol
You also get a better rate on the beaters and it's not like your driving cross country. You'll be close if anything happens.
All I can say is have fun, and dive, dive, dive.

Mike & Debbie
Bonaire is not only the home of diving freedom but also the home of "no one cares what you put in the bed of the truck."
This covers unleashed pets, loose babies, you name it.
Hop in, hold on and have fun

Just as an aside, If you use AB and I believe Budget and purchase insurance AND click on the rebate tab at the top of this page you can get 10% off rental from AB and 15% off budget. We have used the AB one twice and there were no hassles.

Mike, and Debbie, Poppy from Telerin will meet you at the airport with your truck. When you leave just park the truck in the lot and your on your way. Poppy makes your rental so easy! No hassle at all, and her prices are right! Ron

Mike and Debbie, welcome to BT:-) I've rented from AB and Budget several times and never had a problem. You may want to email Ann Phelan or Michael at Chat'n Browse.

Ann could get you a deal. I'm not sure when you are coming down, but if it's soon, good luck. They are all generally booked during high season.

I don't have Ann's email addy handy, will look for it or maybe someone else has it.

I am new to this forum. We rented a pick-up from Bonaire Rent a Car last April and we were very happy. We will certainly use them again. We are keeping our fingers crossed to visit Bonaire again soon.

We've used Budget the three times we've been on island and love the service and vehicles. We did get out best price when we arranged it through a local villa rental agency. (There ARE local prices)

We used AB in May. At first I was a little taken back on the roughness of the the truck but after driving around Bonaire and loading/unloading gear I was so glad I had a truck that I didnt have to worry about getting a ding in. Their service was fast and friendly. Would use again.

Just got back 3/13, rented from Poppy at Telerin and it was like borrowing a car from your sister.
Got a great rate, a nice truck, she met us at the airport with all the paperwork already filled out, dropped off at the airport when flight left and best of all, no monkey business with our credit card ( like the previous companies $560 deductible "authorization only" that you have to fight to get taken off your charge!). This is my first post and only an outstanding experience that I feel will help other travellers got me to do it.

We have rented from Island and never had any problems. Alex is great, we get a taxi from the airport when we land on the red eye and Alex picks us up the next morning to drive to the office to do the paperwork. It works well.

Has anyone rented from Avis? Years ago we were not impressed with Budget. It has been 8 years since our last trip. I expect that you still leave the vehicle unlocked?

Hi Jackie,
Welcome to B T, and yes I've rented from Avis,4 years ago.
As car rental places go it was just run of the mill. The two car rental companies that seems to be every one's favorite is AB and Telerin.
My favorite is Telerin, Poppy the owner, gives great customer service and has very reasonable rates.
I'm sure other people have their favorites other than the two I just named! So if your not in a rush just sit back and read the posts.
Bill

We have rented several times from Everts and always had good vehicles (trucks), reasonable prices, and courteous service.

We used Budget. They are the only car rental place open at 4 AM! Our flight was from Newark so you arrive at 4:30 AM and depart at 6 AM (so need to get to airport early).

They did not have our truck ready when we arrived. It needed a wash & clean. Gave us a rental that they would exchange later. Brought us a truck at our hotel about 9 am. Not the one they promised, but was a truck. That evening the truck failed to start after a stop at the snack shop. Luckily the lady let us borrow her cell phone to call Budget. They came out about 40 min. later with the service person. He checked out the truck, then told us to get in, took us to the Airport and we were given another vehicle that worked wonderful. (this was the one they promised us when we checked in).

I guess three times a charm, but it was a little annoying. Fortunately we did not get stuck at a remote place when the truck died. The problem is they do not have a lot of the large pick-up trucks in their fleet

-Jackie
