Our car rental place wanted us to bring it back 3/4 full because thats how we started out. I carefully filled it up with the ignition on to watch the gage. It very slowly went up and right before 3/4 of a tank it stoped. As I drove away it went up over full. Gas cost a lot there so this is good to know. Loved our little truck with its double cab. It was very handy to throw all are snorkeling gear and beach stuff into the back. We always left the car open with no valuables in it and had no problems. Gas tank has a key lock.

Why don't they rent it full and have us return it full, sure would be simpler. I had a similar problem with my rental, but the pick ups are great!

They usually rent the truck with the gas it had in it when it was returned. One less person to pay, one less chore to perform.

For general information - if you have a flat, take the tire to the Lisa Service Station on the road to the airport. Charge for repair is 6 or 8.00 US. I totaled the tube so it was more but still under $20.00. OH.. you are responsible for the flat, it was round when you picked up the vehicle.

I am unhappy to hear that you were charged so much for a tire repair, since it is generally under $5.00 dollars for a patch and $13.00 for a new tube. Plase confirm what you paid. I hate to think that there are two prices.

Michael, I left the receipt in the glovebox of the truck, but as memory serves it the total (with new tube) was $16-18.00 US. On the nice side, I was under the truck replacing the spare and a young man came over from the filling station and lent a hand cranking the spare back under the truck.
