John owns and operates Voyager Events Car Rental. His trucks are in very good shape and John and his staff will work above and beyoud to make sure you are happy. His rates are great and his service is even better. 24x7 is not a problem.

Is it just me or are these unsolicited Voyager testimonials becoming a bit much?

Sparty,

Good service is few and far between. When I come across someone who stands behind any product I will do business with them time and time again. Rather than a bit much could it possibly be people are both happy and surprised that someone in todays world actually cares about their business?

Sparty, it seems Voyager is doing a good job, people are impressed.

i agree with sparty to a certain extent....there are other posts praising voyager by people who apparently work for voyager but try to post as if they are satisfied customers. then when you get a legitimate post by a satisfied customer people view it suspiciously...i know i do. secondly, the topic of this particular thread is "no total, no AB, voyager yes". seems strange to me that nothing in the posts themselves mentions total or AB...just the subject.

Okay lets clear the air. I had no idea there were other post. Once again I do think good solid companies that deliver at and after the sale are few and far between.

Pat I have no idea what you thought you were going to read. I would not rent from Total or AB again but I will rent from Voyager again. Clear enough?

ron, i'm glad you have been satisfied with voyager. the mods have pointed out that other posters who have praised voyager have been discovered to be employees of voyager. however, from the subject line it seemed you were telling people not to use either total or AB without following up with reasons in your post. that's what i had expected to read.

for the record, i have never used total. i used AB years ago when it was owned by someone else. i have also used budget (on our first trip), netty's (before she closed up), and island (when patrick was one of the owners). we have our own truck now so i don't rent.

I see that Mr. Folds has successfully avoided any denial of financial interest in Voyager. And a denial would be so easy.

I love great food! Ron...are you going to Bobbejans on Sunday? I'd love to meet. For the record, I'm renting from AB - again! I've used them many times because they always beat everyone's rates for long term rentals. And this trip, AB saved me when my airline booked me on an imaginary flight.

We have not had any problems with the service or the truck other than a very minor problem with the tail gate that was quickly fixed. Some people will try to slam you on anything you say positive these days and I have had enough of that foolishness. I suppose we can attribuite that to change. You know what they say, I will keep my stuff and you keep the change.

Interesting comment regarding Voyager in a post titled "car rental" posted 5/28.

To be fair, the issue may eventually be resolved and have been an inadvertant error.

I should point out that the complaint was only the third post from the poster and at least one other post repeated the same claim.

Okay Folks the Jury is in -

Two weeks and no truck trouble. We brought the trucks in this afternoon to show John we did not cause any damage and he was once again - A pure pleasue to do business with. I wish he could train American Business on how to treat a customer.

All I can say - If you have a problem doing business with John then you have a problem. Now rather that post horse , post facts if you disagree.

We sailed into Bonaire in April of '09 and shopped for a truck rental on a monthly basis as we were here to dive. Chose John at Voyager Rental as they were a few dollars cheaper.
We have had a HORRIBLE experience with John and Voyager Rentals and CAN NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone. He has charged our credit card for $5,650.00 as a "security deposit" which took 2 months to get off our credit card, $565.00 for a hit and run the police said occured at night as the truck was parked. John agreed it was not our problem. 3 1/2 months later he has charged it to our credit card AGAIN. WE have had 4 credit card disputes with him, 3 settled in our favor, one outstanding. I WOULD NO GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CREDIT CARD. The few dollars you save in the initial rental are not worth the fight and inconvenience you will have in dealing with a dishonest businessman.

did you have a rent a wreck or a newer truck???
I am not talking about scratches, every truck on Bonaire has scratches... I am talking about a high mileage truck with many MANY dents, no a/c and the leather interior in bad shape as a rent a wreck..

We rented the truck for two weeks and did not cause any damage and had a good experience with John. We were careful where we parked and treated the vehicle like our own. When using our credit card to rent the vehicle we ask that the credit card be held in the event of a problem and not charged. We paid cash at the end and picked up or card paperwork so the card was never charged. And of course there was nothing to dispute and we all lived happy ever after.

Curiouser and curiouser.

On Friday, May 29, 2009 - 6:24 pm "Ron Folds" made his post #131.

On Monday, August 31, 2009 - 7:01 pm "Ron Folds" made his post #1.

Who is this masked man who doesn't answer simple, direct questions???? Or, maybe, which "Ron Folds" didn't answer??? It seems to me we went through this same dialog with "Ron Folds" about interest in Voyager earlier.

Curiouser and curiouser.

What is the direct question. I will answer it if you promise to have someone read it to you.

Please read my previous post. Bottom line is if you don't break it you will not have to fix it. Clear enough?

Ron apparently forgot his user name or password or changed the same and created a new account,...Ron can we delete the other account to make room for other BTers??

Go ahead. I forgot the password to the other account and this was the only one I could find in my old email. I thought this old post was dead and buried and then I received an email from a post on the board where someone broke a truck and now it is John's fault.

Would you be so kind as to tell Glenn I am not from Bonaire and I can put this whole post to bed.

And what does Ron's not being from Bonaire have to do with the price of tea in China or this thread??

He just keeps slip slidin'. Fun to watch, wondering what the next ploy will be!!!! :–)

Let me explain something to you people.... "Ron Folds" has absolutely no interest in anything on Bonaire. We have been there a few times and enjoyed it, but most likely won't be going back. He has no interest in Voyager Car Rentals. I met John a couple times this last time we were there. He was a very nice guy and very accommodating in anything we needed. We happen to hear about a woman that rented a vehicle and cause an immense amount of damage to the truck because of carelessness on HER part. Had she rented this vehicle in the US and caused the damage she did, I can assure you, she would be out a whole lot more money. So Glen, let me tell you that Ron keeps slipping and slidin in and out of this website because most of the time we just read how crazy you people are. No one can say one word against any thing or anyone on Bonaire. We have been reading this board for a few years and rarely write anything. Unless you agree on everything the in crowd has to say, you will get thrashed.... Like I said, it is highly unlikely we will ever be going back to Bonaire. Diving is not as good there as it use to be. Will drop by in a few days to see the backlash on this post.....

Nancy,

Thank you for answering the questions about any financial interest Ron might have had; he could have done that many posts ago. All that was done in this thread was to ask a simple question that needed only a one word answer. Thank you again for giving it.

Unfortunately, I have to agree on Bonaire diving.

I did not think I had to reply to a post that made no sense at all. The simple fact remains - John is a good person to do business with and if you sail in and break something - pay for it and move on. Nuff said - And I do like the island but did not like the murky water this time around. To much building is tearing the island up. But then again, that is the Dutch for you.
