I rented a car for my stay on Bonaire. Would I be better of getting a truck or some type of SUV?

Thanks,
Eric

If you are diving shore sites the truck is far better.

Eric..we really need more info. How many people are with you? Are you shore diving? My preferred vehicle is you are only 2 & doing shore diving is a Suzuki Jimny. It's got enough room in the back for 2 tanks & some equipment & is 4 WD.

I would go for a truck if diving.

Most trucks are "crew cab" that have seating for four, with the truck bed used for tanks and gear. I have not found a need for four wheel drive. I have found that a truck is the way to go. Be aware that most, if not all, trucks are standard shift.

we rented a four door standard shift truck with cab for 4...nice wooden tank rack in the back for tanks dive gear..sit on the tailgate to gear up..don't need 4 wd, not even in the park..used AB Carrental and they were great..don't need AC , just open your window

Thanks for the feed-back. It's just going to be me, my dive equipment and a couple of tanks. I would like to dive at a couple of shore sites. I'm trying to change my rental from a car to a Rav4 or similar vehicle.
