We will be in Bonaire in May and we want to rent a little SUV for a day only, to drive around the island and go through the national park. The more well-known car rental companies such as Budget and Avis seem to have a 3 day minimum, but I found that Island Car Rental has a daily rate and the prices are very reasonable. Just wondering if anyone has used this company before, or if you could suggest any others for our short day trip. Thanks!

We have used Island Rentals several times and were always pleased with the service and vehicle.

we have used them in the past and have been satisfied. they don't open till 9AM tho. i've talked to people who have arrived, taken a cab to their hotel, and then had island bring the truck to them...then the guest drives patrick or ronald back to the airport. not sure about the drop off policy though.

Depending of the time of year you are on island, most of the companies will rent for one or two days. Normally, the policy of three day minimum is only when you go on line to reserve. Also, most of the major companies do not charge extra for being there early tor you to pick up your rental car.

Do all the car rentals put a $1,500 hold on your credit card because you do not take their insurance? AB did us. We have insurance that covers us and refused it. We'll have our car 1 week tomorrow am and am considering turning it in and getting one somewhere else.

don't turn your car in till you're sure you have another one. it's high season and rentals might be in short supply

Sharon, if you are thinking of changing, check first with Ilka at Everts Car Rental --- she's a doll. Tell her Josie sent you -- I'm one of her fans! We use her all the time, for our 4-6 week trips each year and have nothing but raves for the service and vehicles!
