I am coming to Bonaire for 2 weeks in couple days and would prefer to rent a decent road bike rather than lug my giant bike box through 4 airports. I am a competetive cyclist and need to train while in Bonaire. I can bring my pedals, etc... And, yes I know it is hot. Can't wait. Thanks

Dana LIs, Welcome to Bonaire Talk. I believe there might be two places to rent a road bike the first is : De Freewieler, Kaya Grandi 61,717-8545
the second:CYCLE BONAIRE, Kaya Gob N Debrot
77 A,717-2229

this information was taken from the yellow pages of Bonaire so I am not sure if it is current.. I am sure that someone will come along that has first hand knowledge about these establishments.
Again Welcome to Bonaire Talk

dana, welcome to bonaire talk. i dont' know of a place that rents road bikes. most of the rentals i've seen are mountain bikes, cross bikes, or dutch bikes. i've seen road bikes there while i've been riding (mountain bike) but i think they've been privately owned.

I rented bikes from Die Freewieler, only has big klunky Dutch bikes, and somewhat decrepit at that. My daughter's chain kept coming off, gears slipped. But got us from A to B. NOT what you are looking for, never seen anything resembling a road bike for rent but others may have.

Good Luck!

Dana-
You're going to have to bring your bike. Like Pat said, I know of no place that rents road bikes. If you do bring yours, be sure to bring (and have with you at all times)a spare tube, pump/CO2 inflater. It's a great place to train. I think I'm going to try to bring my extra road bike in Feb, and leave it. Right, Pat?
