Check out the prices. They've really come down tonight.

Hmmm. From where? I just plugged in MHT to BON (through Newark) in October, and it's more than it was yesterday...

So is that through Houston? Newark is a redeye, too. If Houston, that may be the difference...

I too saw these great fares. I looked at leaving on a Friday through Houston and coming back the next Sunday through Newark to get an extra day. the fare was $653 roundtrip from Charleston, WV. This was the week before Regatta. The week of Regatta was about $200 more.

The fare for President's Week 2008 from Newark is $1053.00 each and we have not seen any drop since it became available

Did you ticket yet Alan? I don't think there are many seats left.

I gave up and used FF miles - 70K for each ticket. Just after I did, I accepted a new position with my company that has more travel and I am already recouping the miles!

this is odd - just looked at my reservation on-line. When we bit the bullet and used the miles, the planes were so full my husband couldn't get a seat assignment for either flight and my 10yr old & I were sitting 3 rows apart on the red-eye. Now the President's Weeks EWR non-stop flights are under 30% full.

I will never understand how the airlines do business. Could someone have had a block on 50+ seats that suddenly vaporizes?

Yes, we ticketed. Did not want to chance missing our February trip, it hurt to have to pay so much. On the flip side we only paid $500 for our trip this August.

We were amazed that the seats for February were selling out at that price.

Many travel agencies put a hold on seats and have till a certain day to cancel them without penalty. The release is approx. 30 days out.

We just paid $1048pp for santa barbara/lax/iah/bon in Sept
but without asking, we were put in first class for the iah/bon portion - legroom for that overnight flight sounds good to me. I just hope the neighbors bring their noise cancelling headphones - hubby is a chainsaw even with snore meds :-(

LOL! I actually like Guy's snoring (most of the time) because it means he's home... I don't sleep as well when he's on duty :-)
