Are alcoholic beverages allowed on the beaches? I'm not talking about big parties, just a cocktail on the beach at sunset.
Thx, Shelly

As far as I know you can have alcoholic drinks on the beaches. Most of the real beaches, those with sand are at the resorts and have bars on site. Bonaire has very few sand beaches most are coral rubble. Just be sure and pick up behind yourself, don't leave anything that can injury birds, turtles, and other wild life. We like to sit and watch the sunsets too, they are so beautiful.

Shelly...Welcome to BT.. We love to watch the sunsets & await the "green Flash" while imbibimg adult drinks. However when leaving, leave nothing behind except your footprints on the sand.

Welcome to BT, MisChell. Forget the single cocktail, have the big party, just clean up after yourself and you might want to skip the big bonfire (Bonaire is a bit dry). No hassles in Bonaire, unless you mess with the coral.

Thanks, everyone! We look forward to green flashes, Amstel and a beautiful island. What a warm welcome and we aren't even there yet!

My husband and I bought a cheap bucket at a local store, filled it with ice and beer and went to the beach by the airport. It was fun to watch the planes come in and then jump in the water when we needed to cool off! We used the bucket our entire trip and then left it with Menno and Ester at Deep Blue View with specific instructions on how to use it! ha! we hope it is still there for our return trip this fall!
