Have seen Fox on the Info Bonaire web site and wonder if anyone has rented from them? The name is new to me and thought they might be a new addition to the car rental business in Bonaire.

Fox Bonaire Car Rental and AB Carrental are two different companies, with both an airport location.
AB Carrental has a fleet of two hundred rental cars and is established in 1985.
Fox Bonaire has a fleet of twenty rental cars
and is established in 2006, they are an affiliated member of Fox Rent A Car USA.
The shares of both above mentioned companies are the property of one holding company.
So I think it is clear that Fox Bonaire is not "a part of AB Carrental"

It is still the same basic management and prinicipals who share the same basic pot of money at the end of the day. If fox is out of one of its 20 rental cars, do they then switch the client to AB's 200 or do you just send them to Budget or Hertz..I think not. You adverise Fox rentals at low prices and I imagine you are out of those cars pretty quick. Sorry, but I think it is clear that Fox and AB are more than just neighbors at the airport Rental Kiosks! I wish Bonaire had truth in advertising laws..

Hello Michael,I gave the right information to the readers, why don't you admit that you are a rental agent of Budget Car Rental, than it is clear for everybody, what the reason is for your writing about advertising laws. When your rental company is out of cars, they also rent cars from us, so what is your real problem Michael? You don't like competition?

Sounds like it is you that has the problem. I don't think anyone knew I had anything to do with budget. Thank you for the free advertising!!

Well now Michael, if you are an agent of Budget then you were remiss in not informing the readers of that fact, especially when you weigh in on a rental car thread about a competitor. We do appreciate your keeping us all informed.

Ton, welcome to Bonaire Talk. If you have some connection with AB, Fox, or other car rental companies, you too should make that plain. We prefer that our users who are affiliated with businesses identify their affiliation in their full name as it appears when they post.

Seb..I have a sigm on my building (which I am sure you must have seen on more than one occassion) that says budget since it was a Budget office prior to my rental and I do refer clients to them as well as any other agencies (Including AB) that rents cars as a service to people who wander in. I have never "weighed in" on any car rental questions as to service or where to rent and I invite you to search the archives and point them out. The only exception is the the question regarding Fox which in no way intially constitued self promotion and perhaps on one more occassion a few years ago in which I was refering to a rent a wreck company.

I bought a used truck from AB and happen to know the same employee manages the vehicles for both companies: AB and Fox. Even if technically they are not the SAME company; the bonaire offices for these companies are indeed closely intertwined, yes?

Kinda like hotels in the States that share the same parking lot but different franchised names (Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express, ect.)and send guests between them....instead of one 120 room hotel, it looks like two 60 room hotels that compete against each other. This tends to hide the true ownership.

I've never had Michael approach me about renting from Budget...nor have I seen an active car rental desk at Chat n Browse. If he has some backdoor financial interest, so be it.

But Ton's post makes me question using Fox for my rental needs. Just my thoughts.....

I can attest to the fact that Michael has never self-promoted his affiliation with Budget (except for said rent a wreck thread, which was a LONNNGG time ago and has been LOOONNNNNG forgotten ;-).

Ton, in your profile, whey don't you put a link to your email address at Fox Car Rentals, similar to what Michael does (and I believe you also have it in your other BT profiles). If it isn't in your username for everyone to see, at least when they click on your profile it clearly identifies you as a business owner Better yet, why don't you both put a link to your website in your profile
