Hi! Soon I will be leaving for Bonaire to do a 4 months internship. Ofcourse I want to do a lot of sightseeing in my spare time. What do you folks recommend me to do with transport? Is it better to rent something for the days that I need transport or is it better to buy something. And which way of transport do you recommend: car/scooter/bicycle...?

Depends on what you'll be doing...
If you are going to dive: Make sure you have a car.
If you dive very often: buy a car to sell it after your stay, else rent one occasionally.

If you are "just looking for transport" and just for yourself, I would recommend a scooter/moped of some sort: Cheaper and as the island isn't that big, that would do just fine.
For friends and/or relatives coming over: Advise THEM to rent a car :-D

I don't know as I always rent a car (because of diving). Maybe you oughtta make a deal as the basic prices might be too steep. (So bargain for a price for four months...)
Just Google on Scooters Rentals Bonaire and it should give you some results.

Else: Try to buy one there....
