I used Hertz last year & had a very good experience with them at the airport. You should be fine.

Howdy! I need to insert a question, pretty please. I am going through Hertz this May, actually have a free rental through my AMEX card. I have confirmation from Hertz that the operation in Bonaire does accept AMEX and the AMEX Rewards coupons but.... We all love Bonaire, but we also all know that sometimes what a home office claims to be true is not true on Bonaire. Can any one confirm if Hertz accepts AMEX at the airport in Bonaire? I know I read in someone's trip report a while ago that they ran into this problem, booked on-line and got to the car rental agency and they refused to take the AMEX. I just can't remember the company that did this and I can't find the trip report. Please...if you know that Hertz accepts AMEX, would you let me know?

Ok...new question. Any one have an email address for the Hertz facility? Just got off the phone again with Hertz international. They claimed they called the Bonaire office while I was on hold, that they will accept American Express, but that they won't accept my American Rewards Coupon. They wouldn't give me the direct contact information to confirm or deny this. Any assistance would be great!

Jeannie, I can tell you that I couldn't use my AMEX coupon for Budget when I tried that one time. Budget takes AMEX, but they would not accept the coupon. It was an "International" thing. I guess the coupon was good only in the US...that was in 2003, so I don't know if it may be the same snag you are running into now.

I think the local Hertz phone number is 599 717-7221, or at least it used to be. Their email address was: rentacar@bonairelive.com. I do not think this is correct any longer.
