Came across this Google Maps Standalone Mode software today.

Using my GPS data, I quickly cobbled up a way to browse my dive videos. Its not complete yet, but you'll get the idea.

This would be a really cool way to annotate all sorts of info about Bonaire.

Its fairly easy to do, but you need access to a server that can serve up an XML file that describes the locations and information.

I'd be happy to host the XML files for anyone else who cares to create the content, but does not have access to a server...as long as my bandwith does not go through the roof!

Ruby, Deeper than 50 to 60 feet and all the color is washed out...does not look so good. But take a look at the Helma Hooker video. A portion of the video was shot on and around the wreck down to 80 feet or so.

What are you interested in about deep dives?

*chuckle* Roger, I forwarded the url of your video to my wife and her first comment was, "I see he copyrighted the video.. Did he get copyright permission from AJ Croche to use AJ's music?"

Your wife is right Josh and I apologize for having done it.

Those were marked before I really knew what I was doing. No excuse, but I already recognize I done wrong!

I did try contacting Putumayo on whose label a lot of the music comes from to see what's involved, but never got any response. Do you or your wife have any advice on how to proceed?

I'm switching to the Creative Commons license and plan to use music licensed under this banner. It takes a while to find and sort through the offerings and with the terrible upload connection here on Bonaire, its not a trivial matter to upload several gigs of data.

Thanks for pointing this out with a little *humor* when a big stick might have been more appropriate.

*wink* Sorry Roger, no clue at all (my wife probably knows, but I'm in bed under the weather... no clue where she ia at the moment). I just couldn't pass up the irony factor. Thanks for being a good sport about it.

Okay, google released their Google Maps API a few days ago. I've switch to using that instead of the hack referred to in the first post. That link will no long work.

Instead, use the Blennylips Bonaire Map.
