Are there generally taxis waiting at the airport for the 8:45 pm American Airlines arrival? Are any of them crew cab pickups that can accomadate a 54" bike box? Is it easy to line one up for the 8:30 am departure? And finally, what should I expect to pay for tranfer to town?

You will have no problem. There are a number of vans and departures are never a problem. Exacly where is your hotel? The rates are set and the drivers quite honest.
