Sorry if this has been addressed before, but I couldn't find it. We'll be leaving Bonaire very early (6:15 am), which is before the car agency (probably Hertz) opens. How are you supposed to deal with that? Do you have to drop off the car the night before, and take a taxi to/from the airport? Pay for it the night before, but drop it off before they open? Or ...?

Thanks!

Ken

Hertz is great..they are open so no worries. Since there are few flights out of BON they open to work with the arrivals and departures.

I took the AA once and dropped off Mom and my child, they got in line, I dropped off car, got departure tax and then joined them just in time to get to the counter. We got to the 6;15 flight at 4:30...STUPID move..nothing opened til 5 AM.

Great news - thanks!

I was lucky enough to come across some messages that said the airport doesn't open until 5:00am, but it's nice to have it confirmed nonetheless. (Also some wise advise to pay the departure tax the night before, since the counter opens even later - 6am???)

I actually hadn't checked out Hertz's times yet. Budget's website insisted that I put in a time of 7am or later, so I assumed that all the agencies might not open until then. Glad to learn I'm wrong.

I'll stick with Hertz - thanks, Annie, for the info!

Where are you staying? Most will pick you up at the airport and drop you off. We are arriving late and leaving early, so we saved two whole days car rental by booking for the next day and dropping off the night before our flight. Worst case scenario you take a taxi for 8 bucks. That beats the daily rental by a bunch and you get dropped of right in front (saves time).

Everyone at the airport (rental car agencies, exit tax folks, etc.) recognizes that there are wicked early flights now, and will accommodate. The folks at ABCarrental that we rented from last October opened at 5am to let us return our car, and the exit tax window opened early enough for us to get our voucher in time for the flight. No worries.

Just let Hertz know when your return flight is, and they'll let you know how they deal with it.

Thanks, everyone. Indeed, I checked the local Hertz website (http://bonairenet.com/hertz/), and they mention that they open at 5am those days that have early American Eagle flights. Very smart and very nice.
