I've ridden scooters for years and my husband has ridden motorcycles for years and we prefer not to ride in a car (it's that "wind-in-the-hair-thing"). Can we access areas in the marine park by scooter if we don't get off-road and damage flora and fauna, or is it not allowed at all?

The Marine park is actually the underwater area. As for Washington/Slagbaai park, no scooters are allowed. You certainly cover the rest of the island by scooter and I will venture a guess that it would be difficult to see it all in one vacation. There are a number of Scooter Rental places and the only suggestion I can make is be sure to bring plenty of sunblock and a water bottle.

One other note......you didn't say whether you plan to access the Marine Park to dive or snorkel, but most dive operations forbid the transport of tanks (for safety reasons) on scooters or motorcycles.........
