We are asking for your "vote" on one of the above rental companies. We have received quotes from both for the same vehicle (manufacturer, model, etc), one company has given us a price approx. $44US less than the other, which could pay for a tank of gas. Between the 2, which do you think provide better service, reliability, etc.?

ABCarrental In more than 10 years I have had nothing but excellent service and experience with ABCarrental. They have representatives all over the island and open as early as 5AM at the airport if have to catch the 6AM flight. Their on-line reservations, pricing and personal confirmation are excellent.

Chris,
I have used both; switched to Netty's from ABCarrental when they closed their office at the Sand$ mini-mall (the space now occupied by Chat'N'Browse) a couple years ago. I have been very happy with and plan on continuing to use Netty's. I had no problems with ABCar.., but I now prefer Netty's. From my experience, you should be happy with either one.

Have used Nettys for the past few years with no problems but ABC have had good write ups. We use Nettys because the charge for additional drivers is less.

Netty does give a returning renter discount. But AB made me a good deal too.

Chet, AB has an office at Captain Don's Habitat which of course is very close to Sand Dollar. Plus, you can be picked up anywhere on the island.

My only problems with Netty's is that when I tried booking a pickup about a month before we left, they said everything that we were looking for was booked already and next time give them 10-12 weeks notice!

So I tried AB Rentals and was able to get what I wanted.

Giving Netty's the benefit of the doubt ... it was supposedly "busy season" in February.

we have used both and have liked both. marc at abcarrental was very good about helping us get our bill straightened out. we were there last summer for 7 weeks (47 days actually)...visa will only cover insurance for 30 day, mastercard for 14 days...so we switched back and forth a few times which ended up costing more that our quote. i told marc about it and he took care of it.

keep in mind that none of the credit card companies will cover insurance on a truck rental (they usually cover cars and vans tho) so you'll have to pay the additional cdw.

yes, february is a busy time. but we did book far enough ahead with both companies to get the vehicle we wanted.
