Good news!

Garden Cafe, BonaireTalk's favorite vegetarian and Lebanese restaurant is moving to larger quarters. Raj tells me they should be open as of tomorrow in the space Warung Ketjil had vacated last year - this is just south of De Freiwieler moped shop, and south and across the street from Donna & Georgio's (all of which are about 2 blocks north of the shopping area downtown in Kralendijk.

Raja says he'll be expanding his menu as well, and offering more grilled items too.

Talk about news you can use...I was looking forward to eating at Garden Cafe in just a few days. Thanks for the notice of the new location. I can't resist a testimonial. Not only is Raj a very interesting and personable fellow, the food he serves is a delight. What a wonderful addition to the Bonaire experience. Vegetarian or no, all should try Garden Cafe. You won't be disappointed. I'm glad to know he's doing well.

My personal recommendation at the Garden Cafe is their mixed vegetarian platter. Alan and I shared it and it was perfect for a light lunch. I'm a light eater, so a big eater would find it more than adequate for one --- as well as delicious.

I'll be checking out the new location in a day or so!!

I think it was this past weekend. I know Raj was planning on repainting. No other details though.

Mmh... I wonder what people like about Babbaganoush... :-O

I do love other Lebanese delicacies, though. Yummy.... :-)

Jake, is the new location for the Garden Cafe where the closed "It Rains Chicken" was located?

Cool -- that puts it right on the main drag, where it should get some good exposure. Excellent! Here's hoping it works out well -- Garden Cafe is definitely one of our favorites...

It's no longer raining chickens in Bonaire? (While I don't eat chicken, I did like the graphics painted on the walls of the place).

Those flying chickens were still on the building as of last night when I drove by. I guess Raj hasn't gotten around to repainting yet. They were set-up for dinner though.

Excuse my ignorance, Is there a Raining Fishes as well as Chickens? Just trying to figure out if I am in the right place or not. :-)

There was a separate "It Rains Chickens" restaurant (where Garden Cafe is now). It was started (and ended) by the same owners of "It Rains Fishes" (which is still operating).

Please, no disparaging of chickens....they might not fly anymore, but they still do fry!

Thanks for setting it straight for me! I don't want to get there and not know where I am going. ML
