We went to the new restaurant "Unbelievable" at the suggestion of our dive guide. To say it was unbelievable is an overstatement. I would say it was average to below average compared to places of the same caliber on the island and the prices are slightly higher. Besides that, there really is no view from the upstairs balcony. Save your money and go to Rum Runners, Patagonia, It Rain's Fishes instead. Better view and slightly better food.

Robyn,
I apperciate your views on Unbelievable, but I have to disagree. I know in Bonaire Views are everything, but the atmosphere is what is more important to my wife and I. Unbelievable was very good when we went there in Dec. Along with Bobbi Jans which has no view at all.
I do like It Rain's fishes also.

Me too. I'd give it another chance and order something different. Our experience there was right on par with Patagonia and other top rated restaurants on the island.

Robyn
I agree,Unbelievable was average at best, but that's why they have more than one restaurant on Bonaire.
Wil's is my favorite, by far and away, taste, price and quality of food is unbeatable.
Patagonia is also great.

Will's was fantastic, really nice patio and great service. The mahi mahi with mustard sauce was one of the best fish dishes I've had.

The reasons I wasn't super-impressed with Unbelievable:
1. If you're going to have a name like that, you better be.
2. The shrimp bisque was like a seafood gravy - tasteless and not an appealing texture
3. I think they confused escargot with french onion soup - it came with a cheese topping (is this a Dutch thing?)
4. The fish (awahoo) was dry
5. The prime rib was very fatty.
6. The veggies were like from a steam bag.
7. For garnishments, they did some very strange things with mashed potatoes, food coloring, and a confectioner's decorating bag that seemed over the top - I'd rather have had them keep it simple and spend more time perfecting the main food items.

Judging from the supporting comments on this restaurant, I may have given it a second chance if it was down the road, but like you said - there are so many good places to eat in Bonaire.

Dobyn,
I am sorry I spoke before I talked with my wife.
She reminded me that was the resturant that we ate at after the late night flight and a week of teaching and homework before getting to bonaire.
She told me that was the place that we would not go back to because of the lack of good service and the food.
Please accept my apology.
Robert

Just goes to prove - once again - how restaurant reviews can be seriously subject to timing and personal opinions. We had a less than spectacular Christmas dinner at Wil's, but they've always knocked it out of the park in the past. Our experience at Unbelievable was great during the same week.

I guess the moral of the story is that the forums are an outstanding resource, but don't lose the forest for the trees.....

Wills was ok, Patagonia we enjoyed, Unbelievable has a delicious key lime pie dessert that can't be beat. Don't remember the main course, but we order dessert to go. The pie is that great.

We ate at Unbelievable last week and had excellent service. The food? While we liked the shrimp bisque and the key lime pie (although my wife's is better ;-)), our main dishes were certainly not worth the price we paid for them. My wahoo was over-cooked. And the BRIGHT blue and red garnish (mashed potatoes?) was just plain weird.
