It's been 3 years since I was in Bonaire and wanted to get opinions on the best place(s) (price and/or quality) to buy the following when we're on island in a few weeks. (We arrive Sunday AM, so they need to be open then):

- Milk
- Wine
- Cheese
- Rolls
- Fruit
- Salad stuff (lettuce & tomatoes)
- Meat (chicken breasts & ground beef)
- Cold Cuts
- Cereal

warehouse had all.. however across the street at Cash and Carry I thought the veggies and fruit had more of a selection..
good thing about it is that you can just walk across the road and finish your shopping....

don't forget to bring cloth grocery bags with you for shopping.. they take up little space and they don't weigh too much...

Cultimara has fresh milk. More for less on NikiBoko Nord seems to have slightly better prices and definitely good produce. Warehouse has frozen chicken breasts in large packages that are good. We cook them all and then freeze some for later. All the stores seem to have good cheese.
Part of staying on the island is visiting different stores. Have fun!

And, if you find something within your acceptable range, buy it (don't think that you can go back for it in a few days). Generally, containers arrive at the bigger stores, like Warehouse & Cultimara/Cash & Carry, only once a week. Fri-Sun are days when shelves are most full.

The Chinese market up past Den Laman and Chat N Browse is also a good place for quick items (cold cuts, bread, milk). They have great prices.

Bring your dutch to english dictionary. They don't carry a lot of brands you'll recognize. e.g. trying to look for mayo, wasn't sure if it was Mayo or salad dressing..

Cash only. And yes, bring your own bags to carry. They do not have the plastic bags for you.

Ruth is right and also remember that Saturday morning is when a great number of locals shop .. and after church on Sunday so plan around that if you can to avoid the the crowds .. best cheese prices on the island are at more for Less ... also on long life milk ..... don't forget the Island Supplier next to Warehouse ..

Thanks all (I actually have an English/Dutch dictionary and read a bit of Dutch, as I've worked for a Dutch company for 10+ years!).

We finally found More for Less on our last trip. Do all the stores take credit cards and do they they have minimums (I remember Warehouse used to).
