I can't remember who it was that sait that fine dinning is rare in Bonaire but they need some talking to.

Both places were first for us.

First night was at Mona Lisa as Bobbie Jeans was not open..........OMG thank you God. Not that BJ's was not open just that we had a great mean anyway. First class service and the food!! We had a hunk of fish that Big E would have been happy with. (Big E being Elvis of course). And a chocolate mousse that was as light as air. I was very surprised at how chocolateeeee it was though. Very rich to be so light. Yummmy

Last night was at It Rains Fishes.
Oh Lord save me! We had a red snapper for two. I had gone to the "ladies room" and saw it being plated. When I told Frank how big it was he said "Oh Nancy! I don't think snappers get that big". His eyes popped when they sat it down on the table. LOL LOL Again first class service and great food. No sweets this time though.

Nancy, Ken had the red snapper at It Rains Fishes and I had a fabulous chicken dinner! There are many great meals to be had!!! Enjoy them all!!!

Well Friday we ate at Unbelievable. Does anyone know if they have a new cook? Very disappointing this trip.. Everything was either way over cooked or, in the case of the fries, limp. Service was OK but the food was not. We'll have to think long and hard about going back there next trip. On Saturday we ate at Cappriccios. Very, very good food but the mozzies about sucked us dry. Next time it's reservations so we can eat inside!!

Tonight we did something we never do on a trip. We ate in tonight. Cold cuts, cheese, strawberries, homemade crackers, (at home in TX), some raw veggies and a bottle of red.

Tomorrow is my B-Day so I have requested going back to Mona Lisa'a.

Nancy, I was just down there in July and ate twice at Unbelievable. I usually don't go to the same place twice, but both nights the food was good as good could be. In other words UNBELIEVABLELY GOOD.

I agree with the disapointment at Unbelievable I'll pass to me over priced and just ok. Service was pretty good since we where the only table. I did wonder maybe they just were not on their game because it was 6 pm and not busy yet.

Both nights that we went. We did go early as in 6pm for dinner and both nights by the time we where leaving the crowd was just starting to arrive. I have found out eat early and beat the rush as most places just start to get busy after 7:30pm.

We ate at Bistro de Paris last night and I am wondering what the hell took us so long? It was great! Service was stellar and the price was reasonable. I had lobster bisque, shrimp in garlic sauce (a tiny bit over cooked) and chocolate mousse with a nice glass of red. Frank had the bisque and lamb shank.

We have been back to both Mona Lisa and It Rains Fishes. At IRF I had the sea bass. It was even better than the red snapper we had the first time.

Hunmmmmm? Where to next?

Nancy, we enjoyed Bistro twice this trip too.

I have to say Lion's Den rocked this trip!!! Great service and just love sitting in the corner table on the water. Food was excellent too. Saturday's they have a shrimp trio special that is pretty darn good. Prepared three different ways a veggie and choice of side, I believe 38Naf.
