our very 1st dive on Bonaire.

I, eager to be a Caribbean diver, fell into the water at the then Sunset Beach Resort.

Now, being from here 10'viz on a good day, had no idea what to expect.

Looked around and saw sooo much color, not to mention the beautiful fish.

Swam out to the "drop". Now being a diver from here, we drop and dive all time. HOWEVER, we don't see where we're dropping. SO, I happily finned to the "drop". Took 1 look, and slammed my fins into the sand, hoping they would act like breaks. Yikes, what a tremendous fall, looked like miles, I could see the bottom, way down there!

Took me 3 days to get to the tug, which at that time was in 60'!

Meanwhile at home I'd done 100', just couldn't see what I was doing! 1991


How was your 1st Bonaire dive?

One question, what does this thread have to do with dining? Should it be in diving?
