My wife and I will be in Bonaire the first of September. This will be our 3rd trip. We were on the island in October & May, had great weather and enjoyed the many outside dining options. When we mentioned we'd be returning for a week in September everyone looked at us like we were crazy and told us it would be HOT...followed by "the diving will still be great...but it will be HOT"!

Friends are joining us and it is their first trip to Bonaire. I wanted to have a few restaurant options with AC in case alfresco dining is out of the question. We want them to love Bonaire as much as we do! Any recommendations?

Casa Blanca has an A/C section inside. Also Bistro de Paris where we had an excellent meal on Weds evening.

As far as the weather being hot in Sept., I believe this is really a function of hurricane activity in the Caribbean basin. If you have a lot of hurricane activity, they can suck the energy away from the prevailing trade wind pattern thereby making it feel much hotter than normal.

Good to hear about Bistro de Paris. That is on our list of places we want to try. Also Capricco. Nice to know we have a chance for some wind!

Bistro de Paris is one of the best places on the island. In my book that is.

Cactus Blue has an AC'd area. That's all I can think of right now. LOL.

Oh, and the new KFC location :-) (and it's not really the "new" location...it's been there for awhile...

One of the tourist brochures you can pick up is a "Bonaire Dining Guide" that describes many of the island's restaurants and includes information about A/C availability. We just got back after 2 weeks and we dined at 3 restaurants with A/C options - Capriccio's, ZeeZicht, and Casablanca. We really liked Casablanca - terrific (abundant!) food and good service.

The food was pretty good at Capriccio's but the service was terrible. We probably won't go back there next time. We have dined at ZeeZicht in the past and have enjoyed it, but this time it was disappointing because the food was rather mediocre and the service was "just okay".
