My husband and I are traveling to Bonaire at the end of this month for our 4th trip. We usually stay in a resort but this time we have decided to stay in a condo across from the airport (Port Bonaire). We are looking for recommendations on where the best place to go for happy hour and meet others and possibly even eat dinner or go somewhere close for dinner. Also curious in the walking distance or if it would be better to drive.

Karel's, City Cafe and some of the resorts happy hours are fun to mingle at.Divi has a rum punch/jam session I think on Friday's. Lots of people usually go. I would say you may need a car, there are a few places within walking distance but if you want to enjoy the island you will need a vehicle either all or part of the trip. Also, if you shore dive you will want a vehicle. Have a great trip!

Mel
I may start a controversy with this remark, indeed I hope I do. If you want to make contacts reveal a little more about yourself in your profile. Maybe even a picture. There are a lot of posters that are on Bonaire Talk for years and I'm not even sure what country they are from. I don't understand that.
My 2 cts.
Mick

Mickey, funny story...on our trip this past March/April, we are standing in line after disembarking and this woman comes up to me, says "are you BarbieRuth?" She recognized me from my profile pic (and all the other ones that have been posted ;) ) We had a nice conversation and then went on our merry way!

So Mel, if you add your picture to your profile, people will be more apt to recognize you! Too bad you won't be there in August...that is when we will be back...You'll have a blast no matter what!!! :)

I'd seen the link Jerry posted before but could not find it on Google last week.
I get the h/c of this info-sheet whenever I'm on Bonaire.

And there I was, sitting behind Jeanine at Richard's, pretty sure it was her, but not wanting to say anything 'cause I was still lurking....now when will I get a chance again?

Mel, we just stayed at PB in April. I'll be happy to share some experiences and places to meet people. The just redone pool is a social hub and could be a start. But send me a PM and I respond.

IMHO Paradise Moon has the best happy hour. Pam and Carl are so friendly, they made us feel like part of the family. Great place to go meet other Americans. Their food is good too.
