We're heading back to Bonaire this weekend, and I'm wondering what days my two favourite restaurants are open (Plazita Limena and El Fogon Latino). I always seem to get the days wrong and we show up to find they're closed!

natalie, to get to mi banana, go to the catholic church in town. turn east so that the church is on your right and caribbean fasteners is on the left. mi banana is a km or two down the road...it will be on the right (south) side. it has a thatched awning. it's across from pachi's and a little before more for less.

OK, so we were planning to go to El Fogon Latino tonight for dinner, but there appears to be a traffic circle under construction in approximately the location where it used to be. Has it moved to a different location? We found a a way around the construction zone, but still didn't find it. Can anyone please help?

sorry, natalie, can't help you. it was there a few months ago. just south of the construction area...if the construction has changed much maybe el fogon is in the middle of the construction area.

Well, we finally located el Fogon Latino on Friday afternoon, so we only got to eat there once. If you're driving toward the new traffic circle, take the right (dirt road) going around the construction area, follow the cars around the garages between two buildings, take the alley around to the street past the construction, then take 3 immediate left turns and you'll be there. Alternately, park in the dirt lot at the left of the construction zone in front of China Nobo, then walk around it to the street behind it and the restaurant will be there (blue and white building with white columns in front). The food hasn't changed; the fish soup is still great as well as their mains.

Did you find it much more expensive than previously. I thought they had.

Either it wasn't much more or it was the same. Still way cheaper than anywhere else.

i know that el fogon raised their prices about a year ago. we ate at rose inn a few times on our recent trip and paid Nafl 20 for each meal. not quite $13 each but close....about $11.25 each.

Hello, I'm a first-time poster and my husband and I are heading back to Bonaire this weekend for 2 glorious weeks. This'll be our 3rd visit and we can't wait. We both love ceviche and we were hoping to get a few recommendations from the forum as to where we can enjoy some. We loved the ceviche at Unbelievable last time we were there and I've heard that Plazita Limena does theirs well, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
