Don't see this wonderful restaurant mentioned recently... is it still there? Is Lucille still cooking on the island? And where can Raja be found these days?
Thanks
C.

No, Flamboyant is now called Appetite. They cut down the huge tree in the courtyard. I was upset enough to not stay and try the food.

Govert is now at Sense.

Lucille was at Sorobon. I don't know where she is now.

Raja is making a liquor from what I hear but someone will need to confirm.

Hi Susan
Thanks... first, why cut down that beautiful tree? Some of our best dinners were at Flamboyant... and those french fries... mmmm. Oh well... Haven't seen anyone mention Appetite.

As for Raja... maybe he needs some venture capital and some investors... here's your chance, Cheezy Joe. If you don't make any money, drink your product and you won't even notice.
C.

The big tree was cut down "because the roots was lifting the cement blocks on the floor. It was becoming very un safe to walk."

Joey's secondist favorite thing in the world

right after "diving nekkid while eating mac and cheeze in Bonaire"

is Tequila....specially the "crudo" type.

We lived on the AZ/Mex border for bout 12 years and they have this stuff called Bacanora which is pretty much bootlegged but it's weird official bootleg where every little town has an expert "bacanista". I got to try some distilled by the Governor's Bacanista (for realz...the Governor of Sonora has his own Bacanista) and i've never had smoother "instant stupid". Course I had to have several test tastes, grew stupider, sang canciones, danced with humans of indeterminate origin on the beach in San Carlos and woke up the next morning feeling absolutely fine after a cup of nescafe and two fresh flour tortillas.

As to investing, my 401k is still tied up at the Halliburton and Blackwater Investment Bank and I'm eskeered to go get all $12 that's leftover.

If anyone knows how I might get a taste of Raja's product I'd be mighty beholden. I'll also share my review of same with both my friends.

tanks for the info

We had dinner at Appetite in January and found it very interesting and quite good. They were still getting things organized but the service was OK and the food excellent. I hope they are successful.

about the tree: it was not just lifting the cementblocks but also pushing up the foundation; it was dangerous for the building also. Don't let that tree not want you to try a great dinner at appetite.

Bummer about the tree. It made for great ambiance in the courtyard while eating. I am bummed that la flambouyant is no longer there, but wish the new folks at Appetite the best of luck. Do they still have the little white lights in the courtyard?

I had some great meals at Flamboyant and always found Govert to be a great host.

OK, the service was, shall we say leisurely but as long as there was a cold beer in front of me, I was happy enough.

Actually, that will probably be my epitaph!
