Please tell me where we can buy decent chardonnay on Bonaire at the most reasonable price, thanks!

Patricia.

Most of the supermarkets sell wine as well as a few of the shops downtown.

However, if you want a good selection and good service, try Marjolein & Noel at AWC.

Warehouse has decent wine. Antillean Wine Company as mentioned above has great wine. Bonaire Gift Shop in town and the rotary has very good wine. Wine is cheap and plentiful in Bonaire.

Chardonnay of reasonable to good quality I have bought recently at Lisa's Convenience Store and Yeung Chow supermarket. Often also at Warehouse although it's usually more expensive there.

I own a wine shop and the best chardonnay on the island if you're looking for a medium oak is a Chilean wine at Cultimara. AWC is very low on stock and normally this is where I buy when on island but they have a very weak South African Chardonnay as well as some Italian which are generally lite french oak or stainless. I had the South African and it was acidic and awful. They also had 2007 and 2008 Beaujolais nouveau which is a great no-no, so beware! PS Just got back from 2 weeks on the island 1/23/10.

oh oh..the Chinese Toko near WEB has some great wine. The Rene Barbieri (white with the pretty beach chair label) is 11 naf and is a darn good white..I tell you..that's like 5.50 USD!!

There is also a great little wine shop at the circle, across from Chat N Browse. Do not buy the Cotes de Rhone. It was fried. The other wines I bought there were very good. The shop is also air conditioned, which helps a great deal.

JanC - can I get any prosecco for a reasonable cost? Or a good bubbly wine? I have a sister coming for our wedding & it is all she drinks - usually a jacobs creek bubbly chard. Myself I like an organic one from italy now - it is great & cheap with a resealable lid! I know we should drink the real champagne - but cant afford it daily!!
Thanks
Dianna
