Um, Mister X - this is not the place for ads. If you want to advertise the Tipsy Seagull, you should buy ad space.

FWIW: That's at the Plaza, right? Note to self: do not frequent any place that feel the need to spam this board with multiple postings about how wonderful they are.

He'd also posted the same thing in community chat, where you put text. It wasn't your text that was the offending (not offensive) text.

The point I was making was this guy was essentially posting an advertisement, and even went so far as to post it on another thread (making it approach spam-hood :P ); if he want's to advertize he should pay for advertizing space and thereby help fund this board rather than simply take selfish advantage of its existence.

Meryl, I'll defer to Susan again. She said everything (and more) I would have said :-)

Hi there, My name is Boudewijn "Bous" Scholts, I am the sales & marketing manager for Plaza Resort Bonaire. The Tipsy Seagull is one of our restaurants. Ofcourse I was very pleased with the original posting of mister X in "Community Chat", the Tipsy Seagull is a fun place to see the sun set and to have a (few) drink(s) or mouth watering food.
However, if we as Plaza Resort Bonaire would like to advertise our activities, we would first of all not do so anonymously. Apart from that we concider Bonairetalk a forum for visitors of the island, where people can post questions and receive answers from fellow Bonaire-fans and not a place to post your free advertisement!
