Just completed another trip to Bonaire for three weeks; a combination bi-annnual trip/retirement extra week. I decided to just post info on the restaurants we visited - they are always a treat and well, what negative is there to say about visiting the island itself?

Patagonia: Twice on Saturday evening for their $20 all you can eat buffet. Wow, what a treat! Make reservatons before 7PM and they will make sure you get a table on the water. Start out with a salad buffet, then you'll get served with a variety of pork, beef, chicken and sausage. A great dinner!

Pasa Bon: One of the island favorites, we indulged twice rather than the one trip we usually make. Got them fresh off vacation, and excellent pizza and salad, as usual.

The YachtClub: Walked in on a Friday evening at 6:15PM without reservations. There were maybe 4 couples sitting around the pool, and we were greated at the entrance to the restaurant. Asked if we had a reservation, and we said no, and were told they were sorry, but they were completely booked. We looked at the seating area, and no one was there, so this was a little wierd. We will not return for second try here.

Paradise Moon: They have moved to a new marina location that is great, sans for the loud stereos coming from the yachts parked there at the moment. (I actually enjoyed the music, but the musical struggle between Venezuelan Pop and Pam's combination country/pop is a struggle between the ears!) They continue to serve excellent cocktails and food - get everything!

Mona Lisa: By far a favorite haunt. Call ahead and reserve an outside table for a great breeze. The Wahoo Carpaccio, I hope, will become a regular addition to the menu. Kudos to the chef and to Monique, our continuous server!

Plaza Limena: Pretty good. The mosquitos were bad, but they can't help that. The owner, once she arrived, not only brought out bug spray but also citronella candles for the ankles. I tried ordering a margarita, but the server said that the only peson who could make cocktails wasn't there yet (7:30 PM) The sole employee that was there once we arrived (we were the only ones there)just kinda stared out into space and dried wine glasses - to the point that we had to find her to order, then she never cleared the table of the salads prior to bringing the entree. I know, we are on island time, but sometimes it's too the extreme.

El Mundo: No frills and decent, basic, well priced foods. Slow wervice, again, but OK, still on island time.

Another great trip, and we'll be returning again in May!

I am sorry Yacht Club did not work. If there were empty tables, most likely diners were on their way to eat. It is heavily booked with ex pats who live on islands, locals in the know and the lucky few tourists who know to make a res. Please try it again. It's one of the best dining experiences on island. BTW, it's slow and there are mossies so sit back and relax and spray before you dine.

Bill: Paradise Moon is at the entrance to Harbour Village by the marina. Patagonia is on the south side & Paradise Moon the north side.
