since my last trip to Bonaire, I add the Tipsy Seagull to my list of fine dining and great ambience. Located directly on the beach, a tad hidden, at the end of Plaza but with an incredible staff in service as well as in the kitchen. The food was extraordinary, I do call myself sometimes picky, especially when it comes to pricing and quality. If you would like to have a romantic dinner directly on the beach with great service (sommelier is in staff as well) as well as top notch food (lobster bisque was made from scratch), this is the place to go. I was very surprised! I thought I share this with you BT, it's really worth visiting.
greetings
silvie

Plaza had a BBQ on the beach Tuesday night for $15 that was very good. Call for a reservation, and enjoy the Steel Band, drinks, and food... Ron

Does Suzy (formerly of Swiss Chalet) work in the kitchen?

not in the Plaza Restaurant I am referring to. the Tipsy Seagull is located at the OTHER end - opposite the airport. I guess Suzy works at the other restaurant. banana tree restaurant, I think it is called..... but am not sure.

the Head Chef of the Tipsy Seagull is called Han, brilliant young lad, he is also the kitchen manager of Plaza as much as I understood, other chef is Harry, from former Salsa.

Susy Weber (Susy from Swiss Chalet) is managing the Resort at Blue Divers. Luckily Han and Harry do a superb job at Tipsy (and so does Susy at Blue Divers by the way).

:-)

We always go there everytime we are on Bonaire. We stay at the Plaza , so it is convenient . Bea loves the Monday night lobster.

Silvia, thanks for posting about the Tipsy Seagull. We had not been there for years and tried it again because of your posting yesterday evening.... it was great ! Richard had the Lamb Rack, it was from Argentina, and I had the Confit de Canard .... absolutely great !
For appetizer we tried the tartar of Marlin , and we loved it ....

Great to read from you Brigitte! Am glad to hear that you and Richard had a great time and a wonderful meal at Tipsy. Last time I tried a fish tartar for starter as well, but am not sure if it was Marlin,....... delicious! I do believe that the Tipsy Seagull deserves this kind of resonance and positive feedback, great service, delicious food - outstanding for Bonaire standards.
Say hello for me to Richard and Marion!
