On recent trip to Bonaire a friend of mine, who lives on Bonaire, turned us onto Mikes Ribs Truck.
He is parked in the parking lot just south of the post office on the corner , a short walk from Divi, and is opened everynight but Wednesday. You can call ahead starting at 3:00pm for pick up at around 8.
I don't have the #, but it is highly recommened you call or you will have to wait and risk he runs out.Sorry I lost the #.
He has the most lip smacking, fall off the bone ribs I have ever tasted ! I think he was the chef at one of the resturants and went out on his own. He has chicken,. with peanut sauce(sate) and sides too.
The portions are very generous.
A 10 guilder box of ribs, with sauce on the side( that's how you order it)
was more than enough for one, although I have a friend who inhailed his first box and was on his second. He couldn't get enough of them and went back several days for more.
We found it better to order the sauce on the side with the ribs as well as the chicken.
Sooo delicious and inexpensive. Take away only.

Thanks for posting, Lorranie! I did indeed see his truck last week and wondered what he offered. This sounds like an excellent option when we don't feel like going out and can get some extra diving time in!

If I remember, I will get his number and let you know what it is when I go back to the island in August. Now, to print this out and take with me so I don't forget to give it a try. :-)

Hmmmm....very odd. The Bonaire Grill Truck is parked there now, every night starting at 7:30 except one night during the week (Monday or is it Tuesday???). Not sure what happened to the ribs truck, but it has not been there since I arrived. I do know there are a couple of these "cooking" trucks now. Maybe the Rib Truck is just in a different location...or, maybe the owner of the Rib Truck expanded and this is the same one????

O.K., now I am confused too. Saw lots of cooking trucks too, how does one tell what the rib truck looks like? Tribs, have you tried any of the cooking trucks? What does the Bonaire Grill Truck have and what does that one look like. They all looked white to me, no words? Wait, one had chickens on them.

The Bonaire Grill Truck is there on that exact place since we are living on Bonaire and that is for more then 1 1/5 year now. Looking at your description, it sounds as one and the same. This guy was restaurant manager of KFC and Lions Den (in that order). He has great ribs but also has chicken. They come in big and small portions and are served with fries and a sauce. Good food for a good price.

Left, Bill. :-) Keep going down the road, past Divi Casino, then look for it on your right hand side of the road (Land side, not water side) They have a sign outside, can't miss it.

Hey Bill, just re-read, I gave you directions to Unbelieveables, so, I am thinking you mean for the truck? Keep going the same way, on your left side after the hotel row row ends on way to town. :-)

I think that Mike used to be the chef at the Ribs Factory. He may have borrowed that recipe.

Probably saw how successful Babejans was doing and said what the hell. I just always wonder how these guys get the supply of things they need to stay in business like that. That is a lot of ribs. When I retire, and open up my Cheesesteak shop on Bonaire, I will need a charter from Philadelphia to bring in Amorosso rolls and cheese wizz, and provolone everyday. It might be difficult teaching Bonaireans how to order Philadelphia style at first, but they'll get it eventually. "Yo, gim me a steak, whiz, sauce, rooms, wid." This translates into a cheesesteak with tomato sauce (gravy), mushrooms, fried onions (wid) Because of the lines, you need to order it quickly.

Jim, you open it, I will come. Remember the sandwich shoppe that used to be on island. I think a fellow BTer and his (then) wife owned it? They had a great "steak-cheese". IS IT LUNCH TIME YET?

Bonaire Grill.
Owned by Chef Michaelson Martijn

This place has outrageously good food. Chicken or ribs or both. Ask for the fries to be double crispy. The garlic sauce is unique, potent, and makes them a serious competitor with the best on Bonaire. Their onion-pika sauce is a Bonaire special. Huge portions, great value. The chicken is really delicious. He has his own rib method and sauce. Open 8 to 12. Closed Monday.

Bonaire Grill (Divine Justice) is right up there in my book for the Top Three on Bonaire for flavor and value. We ate there a lot and wish they were in FL.
