Hey there! Headed to Bonaire for a week on July 4th with my husband and another couple. Trying to map out my every meal, I love food =).

Definitely trying Bobbjeans since I have heard so many good things, and I love all BBQ! Richards, Mona Lisa, It Rains Fishes, El Fojono and not sure where else! Looking for some good lunch places to go in between dives, any suggestions?

Are there many bars down there? I read that there aren't many on the beach. Looking for good music and/or happy hour deals, reccomendations?

Thanks! Lindsey

Lindsey, do go to Rincon for lunch at the Rose Inn. It's a fun experience and the food is good. Our new favorite restaurant is Plazita Limena on Kaya Grande. Salsa was our favorite before that and we still love to eat there.
There are so many good places to eat that you will be back for a second visit just to try some more of them. As a long-time Bonaire visitor, I can remember when fine dining meant getting fried plantains with your fish and rice. We are so enjoying all the great restaurants that have opened in recent years.

Lindsey, On tuesday at the Plaza Beach Bar, if you make a resevation, you will get a table between the beach bar, and the band with the sea behind the band. A group called the Silver Bullet plays steel drums for your pleasure. Very Island! The food is good, and all you can eat for $15usd each. It will be on our agenda from now on. You don't have to stay at the Plaza to enjoy this activity... Ron

A good lunch is at the place called Boudoir witch is located on the same street as the Subway in town. Pass Subway and go south to the speed bump in the road. Boudoir is to the right of the speed bump. Very good food... ENJOY!

Lindsey-
Recommend Capriccio right in town. Great Italian food with a terrific wine list.

Note: all of the above recommendations you can't go wrong. And maybe we'll run into each other. My wife and I are going to be on island that same July 4th week.

Enjoy,
Neptune Nick

Was partial to Casablancas for steak for the past few years for the mixed grill. Finally got around to trying Patagonias. Two thumbs up. Add a bottle Argentinian house wine and you are set.
