Our favorite seafood on the island is Wahoo. What are your favorite places to order it?

Also, we have tried to purchase Wahoo ourselves in past trips to make on our own. We have visited or tried to call all of the commonly listed fishermen. But, either get no answer or they don't have fish. Does anybody have a surefire way to purchase Wahoo? We would be deeply grateful!

We bought plenty of wahoo steaks when we were down there in Feb/March. Being Italian, we cooked them with pasta & in a marinara sauce. Yummy...
As far as a surefire way, I really don't know of any. It all depends what the fishermen are catching.

Hi Janet.. I have a regular route I follow to buy fresh fish. Since I'm at Bellevue:
1. Easiest for me is Doei & Chana Diaz; J.A. Abraham Blvd # 58 right next to Richards. 717-8365.If I strike out there onto:

2.Nilo & Luvia Josephia; 717-4849. take Nikiboko So to La Portugesa, Piska is just south on the right. If memory serves me correctly, the building is painted pink. If strike out then I proceed to Antriol

3. Luis Wijman, Kaya Gutu.717-4537. This is just south of the Progresso supermarket,or north of the new KFC & Kooeyman . Turn onto kaya Purunchi, then take 2nd left to kaya gutu, 2nd house on the left hand side of the street.

Best time to hunt for fish is after 5:00 pm.

When I get back from the hunt, I usually enjoy a scotch on the rocks & give the fish to Nina who then prepares it in la cucina.
