It’s funny to read some of the dining reports and see how people’s opinions vary. We try to enjoy our meals but watch what we eat so I will normally order a salad & he’ll order an entrée and we’ll share. We are light eaters so tend to have a quick breakfast & lunch at our chalet (at Sorobon). This year we ate at:

Sorobon – 3 times – they have a fabulous chef and sometimes it’s nice not to have to drive into town.

Kon Tiki – we have not eaten here for years because the last time we did the food was terrible. We were quite surprised this time. My husband ordered beef tenderloin which arrived slightly overcooked (we ordered it medium rare and it was closer to medium) but the quality of the meat was top notch so it was still very tender. The salad was fantastic – lots of good quality greens, fresh tomatoes, etc.

Cactus Blue – this continues to be our favorite so I’m surprised to see some of the comments about it not being good. Our friend loves their crab balls and we cannot get enough of Hagen’s Crabmeat, Artichoke & Spinach Dip. Their salads continue to be delicious. For the main courses we had barracuda with a sweet/spicy sauce one night. The next we did the vegetarian pizza. I love Hagen’s crust it’s light and not too filling. The vegetables are fresh & crisp. Our last night there we had ribs – I tell you these are the best – the meat falls off the bones.

Lion’s Den – we ate there once this year – it’s okay – the burgers are good. We tend to go back because of Kurt and our history with him at the Green Parrot.

Sunset Bar & Grill – this was a new one for us this year and a surprise. After eating at Lion’s Den & talking with Kurt he told us about his new restaurant. Not only is the setting lovely – it’s right on the water but the service and food is fabulous. I had the trio of fish – tuna, barracuda & snapper. Each was done in a slightly different sauce. It was served with your choice of starch (I chose rice) and very fresh broccoli done in a light creamy sauce. My husband loves his fish & chips so that’s what he had. I can’t remember what Bob & Beth had but they raved about their choices also. We didn’t get a chance to go back as they are closed on Wednesdays and we had made our choices for our last Thursday & Friday night’s meals elsewhere, but we will return next year.

City Café – we try to eat there once a trip as we enjoy their burgers.

We were going to try It Rains Fishes and Salsa but didn’t get to them. Oh well there is always next year.
