I'm a Paraplegic diver who uses both a weelchaire and a walker. (I'm very active and need no assistance on boats, docks etc..) We stayeda at the Divi in 2006, and the CHIBI CHIBI was the only place on the Island I needed my walker for. Its tough lugging it through the aiprorts, If It's not really needed. I was wondering in anyone knew of any updates at the Chibi Chibi inside the Divi Flamingo since my last stay. (they did say they had One steep ramp they could install in 06) but I would need assistance with that. Just curious if it might have improved.

Since the dive resort specializes in disabled travel I find it to be one of our most accessible properties. I am a former rehab counselor so come from that frame of reference.

Yes I would agree, the Chibi Chibi was the only place on the porperty that was not readibly accessible when we were there last.

So, to address Kevin's question, has access to Chibi Chibi been improved since '06??

Would it be possible for Kevin to borrow, or rent, the use of a walker while he is on island, so that he doesn't need to bring one along???

Kevin, all I can tell you is I do have lunch there every once in a while, and I constantly see people coming and going in wheelchairs. They seem to have to problem at all. I believe there is a side ramp they use to get to the lower dining level.

Whoops, guess I haven't had my coffee yet. The above post should read, "They seem to have NO problem at all." Now, off for a cup of coffee.

GLen thanks for taht info..

I'm going to try it without it.
Leaving Tomorrow at Noon. SO if You get no reply, It's because Im Bottomside for the week. !!!

If anyone is on the island and does have an extra walker that no one is using, It may come in handy at the CHIBI CHIBI, we usually eat lunch there every day.
Will be at the Divi from 04/18 to 04/26
thanks all.
Kevin Watson
Hopefully room 801 , ;-)

Hi Kevin-you may be able to rent one from "Nos Orkon." It's a medical supply store across from Cultimara (the big grocery store in town). I have no idea if they rent without a local doctor's note, but someone at the Divi could call for you: 717-7020. Have a great week!

You are welcome, Kevin. I made two trips to Bonaire with Boston's Moray Wheels years ago when they were alive, as an able helper. The second time we stayed at the Divi.
