So our countdown has begun...we are gearing up for our trek to Bonaire with ALL the kiddos (5!!) and heading that way on Saturday (our apologies to all of those at IAH...Benadryl will be in our carry-on). Anyway, we would like to find a fun and family-friendly place to eat dinner. Any suggestions? We have a large array of picky appetites and the younger three have very short attention spans at the dinner table...so fast and super friendly service is almost a must for a pleasurable experience by all :-).

Thanks!!

Gina & John

I traveled with my 2 kids three times to Bonaire so far and have found eating in most places very kid friendly!

Pasa Bon - fun pizza and you can take away if needed.

Bobby Jans - yummy, inexpensive barbeque, eat in or take away but mostly take away.

Several of the restaurants, Richards, Cactus Blue, La Guernica (just to name a few) were very accommodating, brought stuff out for the kids to munch, Corrine (owner of Cactus Blue)has sons who are often at the restaurant so they befriended my kids and they played and had fun.
Richard asked the kids what they wanted and prepared "mini" meals for them.

It will all work out, I personally find the owners/operators/wait staff to be very good and a smile goes a long way!

Have a great trip! :-) your kids will thank you for the trip!!

One last thought, my kids have travelled frequently and are well behaved which many of the people thanked me for when exiting the restaurant. ( I know it sounds like I am bragging, I am, but the owners and clientele really appreciated this!)

Tough request for Bonaire. Wherever you decide I would suggest going early when the restaurant opens. Bobbe Jans, Pasa Bon Pizza, Lion's Den are possibilities depending on your tastes

RA --
Thanks for the tips. The kids are looking forward to it...but they are also at the unpredictable ages of 15, 15, 9, 9, and 7...a mood can turn south on a dime if you're not looking :-).

We'll definitely add those to the list...when we were there in December we could have lived on Pasa Bon's pizza...so we'll definitely be ordering from there some :-)!

Sometimes great restaurants and family restaurants aren't always the same when you have little kids in tow...so some places we've eaten at in the past aren't the best option for the whole crew...(they're really not into quiet and peaceful meal dining).

Thanks,

Gina & John

Had to smile at your comments, mine are 11 and almost 7.Sometimes 2 different kids are present at the end of a meal than were there at the beginning (mood changes!).

Try City Cafe. Right downtown, lots of street action to keep kids attention, relaxed, good service and food at a reasonable price.
