The Wind and Surf Beach Hut Bar & Grill, located on Sorobon Beach, is one of the best places we ate recently. Chris, the chef and part owner, treated us like we were relatives of the queen (or Bruce Willis), as did Peter, another part owner. Not only was the food fantastic, the owners and staff were very entertaining and helpful. We had a blast, got full and laughed like crazy.

I probably shouldn't tell this but I will just to point out the service and extra attention they go to to please their customers. We went for a middle afternoon meal. The place was kind of quiet because of all the recent rain (first couple weeks of November). The four of us were going to order the special of the day, some kind of burger. Chris took the menus from us and told us he would prepare something special instead of a burger.

Let me tell you, Chris is an excellent chef. I can't recall the name of the dish, but we had a shrimp soup that would make your eyes roll back in your head with ecstasy. Plus we gorged ourselves on grilled fish and salad. We also sampled his tuna sashimi. Excellent. I don't know how else you could describe it. Then Chris topped the meal off by telling jokes non-stop.

Peter and the bartenders were a hoot, too. They treated us like we were old friends.

The other part owner, I think his name is Maart, is a big guy, I mean a big guy. We inquired what his duties were since Chris and Peter and the girls seemed to be doing most of the things with the customers. Chris said, "We don't know and we're afraid to ask him."

The Wind and Surf Beach Hut Bar & Grill probably needs two envelopes to mail anything because the name is so long. They aren't short on fun or great food either. What a great place to eat and enjoy new friends.

Yep, it's the bar/restaurant next door to where they rent the sailing stuff. The three owners haven't had it very long.

I've been on here a long time ago. Just haven't posted in so long my info must have gone south.

Jon, lol. So the Windsurf Place is under new ownership, and thus the new name? I had to do some searching as I hadn't heard that name before.

Actually the Windsurf Place is...well...the Windsurf place (the place where you go to windsurf). The Beach Hut is kinda on the premises and is the place to go for a beer, some great food and a laugh.

I suggest ordering the gaspatcho (SP?) soup and slab of ribs over salad. Chris is a master chef. I also know he does bbq one night a week..I think it vaires...the prices are also very reasonable.
