I noticed two surinamese restaurants listed in the Bonaire Dining Guide. Can anyone comment on Surinaams Bar on Kaya A. Cecillia 31 or Surin's Surinaams and Jaavans Rest. on Kaya Prenses Magriet?

Where are these streets? Any landmarks to help find these places?

Do they do reijsttafel?

Suriname bar is located around the corner from More for Less supermarket.

They make good Roti and portions are plentiful and cheap.

Rijsttafel is actually Indonesian and not Surinam. For a great rijsttafel go to Warung Louise in the Kaya Grandi.

Both the Surinam places are closed. The one on Kaya Prinses Marie was short lived. The one in Niki Boko still may reopen. If they do it wonderful. If anyone will be on island this Friday and also next Friday, there will be a Taste of Bonaire in Wilhelmina Park and one of the vendors is from Surinam and should have Bami, Nasi and Roti for sale!

There is a weekend only Surinamese restaurant in Nord Salina. Call Lize at 717 5632 for her daily weekend menu. I usually get the Nasi Rama (no liver) and two sates and Maggie and I share it. It has two kinds of rice, noodles, lovely veggies, chicken and oh the taste. She does Roti and soups. I never pay more than 18,00 naf.

I guess the dining guide needs to be updated to remove these restaurants.

Thanks to all of you for keeping us up to date with the guides. Susan and I can miss an occasional entry. That is the blessing of on line info. We appreciate all of your input
